Meet the QuestGates Liability team
Management Team (Alphabetical order)
Martyn Gabbitass
ACII, ACILA
Martyn has over 25 years external investigation experience of Liability claims, with particular emphasis on Products, Professional indemnity and serious injuryHe is the company’s Divisional Technical Director and joined QuestGates in 2003 from Capita McLarens, where he was head of the Complex Liability division. Martyn is Chairman of the CILA Liability specialist interest group.
Peter Keillor
Peter joined QuestGates in 2008 after spending almost 20 years, firstly as a senior claims negotiator and then claims superintendent for a major insurance company. He has extensive experience in both handling and investigating, all types of Liability claims, Claims process improvement and Developing customer relationships.
Kate McClure
Kathie joined QuestGates as Divisional Service Delivery manager in 2008 from RBS Insurance. She has a background of 20+ years gained with both insurers and loss Adjusters in a variety of roles including Client Relationships, People Management and Process Improvement.

Stuart McLean
ACII
Liability Operations Director. Formerly a Regional Manager at ITT MacAllisters and a Field Operations Manager with Norwich Union. Stuart is ACII qualified and has nearly 25 years experience in the insurance industry, most of which have been spent in the investigation and handling of liability claims. Joined QuestGates in 2002.
Sue Messenger
Sue has over 20 years experience in the insurance industry, having commenced employment at a leading UK insurer handling Motor and Household claims, carrying out external investigations and site visits. She joined a dedicated claims unit specialising in Liability, Motor and Property claims in 1999 with a portfolio of corporate clients. Sue was promoted to manager with involvement in accounting, reporting and client management in 2003. She joined QuestGates following the acquisition of Teceris in 2010.
Sarah Reynolds
ACII, ACILA
Sarah has over 20 years’ adjusting experience and in addition to managing Major and Complex PI losses is responsible for raising the London profile of the QuestGates Liability division including the Complex Loss team, which is headed by Martyn Gabbitass.
Clive Roberts
Clive worked for Guardian/Axa for over 20 years before joining QuestGates in 2010.He has worked in various capacities including Claims Investigation, Operational Management (where he has managed both Liability and Motor claims departments) and most recently Project Management.

Chris Ascough
ACII
Chris has over 20 years experience having began his employment with Eagle Star (now Zurich), where he worked as a claims inspector from their Plymouth Office before moving to South Wales. He joined QuestGates in 2010 following the acquisition of Teceris.
Philip Caulfield
Philip began his insurance career with Zurich Insurance in Leeds in 1987. He joined AGF in 1991, returning to Zurich Municipal in 1994He therefore has over 20 years experience in dealing with Employers & Public Liability claims and joined QuestGates in October 2008.
Tim Cochrane
Tim has over 10 years insurance experience and has been with QuestGates since 2007 having joined from Allianz Insurance. Tim spent 3 years with Capita Insurance Services (subsequently Teceris Claims Management, which was acquired by QuestGates in 2010) working for a variety of Retail, Local Authority and Service Based clients dealing with EL, PL and Products Liability Claims.
Dawn Dalby
FCII
Dawn joins us from Cunningham Lyndsey were she was area liability manager responsible for Leicester St Albans and Ipswich offices.Prior to becoming are manager Dawn was a liability claims adjuster handling a portfolio of EL, PL Motor, Product and Contract works claims both on a cradle to grave and investigate only basis.Dawn stated her insurance career in 1983 working the Insurance department of British Gas and has worked for London and Edinburgh Insurance, and Aviva before joining Cunningham Lyndsey in 2006.
Dawn was awarded the George Papworth Plate for her FCII exams.

Rupert Frost
LLB(Hons) ACII, FCILA, FUEDI-ELAE
An Associate Director, Rupert has extensive experience of PL, EL, Products and Environmental claims and has handled several major incidents. He is predominantly responsible for the investigation and handling of Environmental claims but also retains responsibility for investigating Complex and Major Loss Liability claims throughout the North West. He joined QuestGates in 2004.
Martin Kelly
ACII
Formerly a Commercial Union Claims Manager before entering loss adjusting with Crawfords, Martin has over 30 years experience all in the Liability arena.He joined QuestGates in 2001.
David Larmour
FCII, CIP
David has over 30 years experience of all classes of Liability including Industrial disease, Financial and Product guarantee, Personal accident, Professional indemnity and Environmental Pollution claims.He Joined QuestGates in 2006 from Capita McLarens.
Douglas Lipinskii
Doug is joining QG from Cunningham Lyndsey where he was employed as a Senior Liability claims adjuster who was also responsible for auditing and mentoring more junior colleagues. Doug dealt with EL PL and products claims on an investigate only basis as well as having a case load that he handle cradle to grave.Doug has been a liability claims specialist since 1977 starting his career with General Accident and worked for Crawford & Co prior to joining Cunningham Lyndsey.

Steve Needham
Steve started his career with Iron Trades over 35 years ago. He Joined MacAllister’s in 1984 and subsequently became Manager of their NW regional offices. Following the acquisition by Norwich Union Steve, moved to Beachams, which was subsequently acquired by QuestGates in 2005.
Paul Ottaway
Paul has nearly 30 years experience in handling and investigating Liability claims having started his career with Zurich Municipal where he was latterly Claims Superintendent. He entered Loss Adjusting in 1998 at the Luton office of Beachams and transferred when their business was acquired by QuestGates in 2005.
Marion Palfreyman
Marion has over 35 years experience within the Insurance industry gained predominantly with Norwich Union as both a claims handler and claims inspector. She joined QuestGates in May 2007.
Mark Purvis
Formerly a Senior Adjuster at both ITT MacAllister’s and GAB Robins, Mark has nearly 20 years experience as a Liability Adjuster. He Joined QuestGates in 2001 and was promoted to an Associate Director in 2004.
Andrew Sharples
Andrew has had over 20 years involvement in the insurance industry. He has extensive experience of dealing with Employers Liability, Public Liability and Motor Claims having worked for a number of major insurance companies. He joined QuestGates in 2006.
Andy Williams
Andy started his career over 15 years ago with Eagle Star and was a claims inspector for Aon before joining Cunninghams as a Liability adjuster.He joined QuestGates in 2008.
Andrew Woodford
Cert CII (Claims)
Andrew started his Insurance career in 1983 at NEM, before moving on to Thomas Howell (now Crawfords). Having joined McLarens in 1996 as a Senior Liability adjuster, Andrew was promoted to Branch Manager of their Liverpool office in 1997 and subsequently Northern Regional Operations Manager but subsequently returned to a more traditional technical role investigating and handling a wide range of complex liability claims. .He joined QuestGates in 2010 following the acquisition of Teceris from Capita.
Nigel Thomas
ACII
Nigel is a consultant with QuestGates covering the Cornwall and Devon area. He has nearly 20 years loss adjusting experience, most of which was gained with McLarens Toplis.
