QuestGates is rolling out mental health skills and awareness training for all its UK line managers.

The loss adjuster will work with Mental Health First Aid England to provide the training.

The course will teach managers to identify signs of mental help issues, in addition to offering help and guidance towards support.

QuestGates has also offered some places for its clients to attend the sessions, which will be hosted at its offices in Bolton and Birmingham.

QuestGates managing director, Chris Hall, said: “We all have a duty to work towards removing the stigma that still surrounds the issue of mental health, and that starts in the workplace.”

“We want our people to feel confident that should they have a mental health issue, they know that their line managers are equipped and ready to help them as best they can.  This essential training will ensure that more of our team have the awareness and skills they need to better support their own and others’ mental health.”

Joanne Birchall, head of concierge team at QuestGates, spearheaded the roll-out of a previous initiative to train mental health first aiders at the loss adjuster’s 14 UK offices.

Birchall added: “I am proud that, as a business, QuestGates understands the importance of mental health support for their employees.  I am looking forward to attending the specific training for line managers and believe this will enable me to have a better understanding of issues that my colleagues may experience and provide me with guidance on how to manager them more appropriately.”
