QuestGates Announces New Head of Casualty Major & Complex Loss

6 January 2021: Leading specialist loss adjuster, QuestGates, today announces the appointment of Jonathan Toulson to the newly created role of Head of Casualty Major and Complex Loss.

Jon joins from Sedgwick where he was personal injury technical director.  Having trained with insurers, solicitors and the NHS Litigation Authority before embarking on his loss adjusting career over 15 years ago, Jon has an in-depth knowledge and experience of managing and overseeing a broad range of the most complex and catastrophic personal injury claims.  He has particular expertise in handling high-profile abuse claims in the sports sector and with local authorities.

“We have seen significant growth in demand for our major and complex loss services from our casualty clients in recent years,” says Stuart Lansdown, Divisional Director – Third Party Services at QuestGates.  “At the same time, we have been successful in developing new products bespoke to the international sports arena and there’s a real opportunity for us to carve out a niche for ourselves in providing specialist, technically led services when it comes to handling major and complex injury claims as we have done in other markets.

He continues: “It now feels like the right time to bring the right talent on board, not only to enhance and develop our existing complex loss team, but to also ensure we build a sustainable resource for the future.  Jon has absolutely the right skills and qualities to help us achieve our ambitions and I’m thrilled to welcome him to the team.”

In this new role Jon will work alongside technical director, Martyn Gabbitass, and complex loss director, Stuart McLean.  His responsibilities will include developing the range of services provided by the QuestGates casualty major and complex loss team, exploring new industry sectors for the team to focus on and creating a training and development programme to nurture both existing and future talent.

Commenting on his new position at QuestGates, Jon says: “I’m really excited to be joining QuestGates.  The business has an outstanding reputation for combining the best talent in the loss adjusting sector with market leading technology to provide a service that is second to none.  I’m looking forward to exploring how the business has built up its major and complex loss proposition and seeing what we can take from that to help build a market leading offering in the casualty market.
