SERVICES - Third Party Property Damage

Innovative and flexible, QuestGates' Third Party Property Damage service provides an efficient, technically competent and cost effective solution to all categories of third party material damage and economic loss claims, whether brought direct or in subrogation.

Utilising our extensive cross discipline expertise, we are able to provide a complete one stop service, whether the claim is a straightforward boundary wall impact where liability is not in dispute, or the most complex property damage / consequential loss claim, where specialist liability, engineering, surveying, accountancy and/or environmental input is required.

Specifically, QuestGates is able to add value in the following core areas:

  • Lower value third party property damage claims, where prompt validation on causation, scope and pricing is required. Typically we aim to visit, agree settlement and report to insurers within five working days. These losses will predominantly be handled utilising our building claims validation service, QGV, which enables claims to be visited and concluded more proactively and at a reduced level of pricing, whilst retaining control over scope and costs. This service has the flexibility to validate estimates that may have already been obtained. Alternatively, it provides insurers with a way to manage third party claims in a more controlled way, by involving us at intimation stage, with our surveyors negotiating directly with claimants, before inflated estimates have been obtained.
  • More complex third party property / economic loss claims, requiring more detailed enquiries on causation and quantum and more extensive reporting.
  • Larger losses, requiring multi-disciplined specialist input, controlled and managed by experienced and qualified adjusters.

We have developed a bespoke solution which, while providing consistency in terms of claims reception, report layout, SLA compliance, etc, recognises the varying demands on insurers. For example, it enables the investigation and settlement of low value claims in a pro-active and cost effective manner ensuring elapsed times are controlled; it also ensures that more complex losses are handled by the correct skill sets and project managed by an experienced and qualified adjusting practitioner.

Our fee models offer pricing innovation where required, by incorporating a risk and reward factor dependant upon the level of savings we achieve. Thus it provides a cost effective solution whatever the complexity of claim and level of quantum. We believe this enables insurers to utilise our services on lower value losses, where traditionally it is harder to add value in terms of savings, without the risk of the investigation becoming non cost effective. It also facilitates a cost effective audit trail, beyond the traditional approach of requesting competitive estimates and simply selecting the lower value price.

Our experience in this area of adjusting is extensive and we adopt a practical commercial stance to the settlement of these claims, which we believe is key and allows our adjusters / surveyors to demonstrate their considerable negotiating skills to ensure that settlements are achieved on the best possible terms. To complement this, and ensure that TCF and customer choice principles are upheld, we are able to offer a preferred contractor network if required.
