QuestGates, the UK’s largest owner-managed loss adjusting and claims solutions group, has further strengthened its Building Consultancy Services management team with the appointment of two new Operations Directors.


Dave Hanks joins as Operations Director (Contractor Services), alongside Leigh Smith who has been appointed Operations Director (Surveying).

Dave is a Chartered Construction Professional with degrees in both Construction and Surveying as well as sustainability qualifications including Practitioner Member Status with the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP). He brings extensive experience across the insurance sector, including roles in loss adjusting, surveying, contractor management, supply chain and client account management. In his previous role at Cotality, Dave led sustainability initiatives such as Science Based Targets (SBTi) and played a key role in developing their Carbon Aware product.

Leigh is a Chartered Building Surveyor with a multidisciplinary background, holding degrees in Building Surveying and Music. He brings a unique combination of technical expertise and creative leadership, alongside significant experience within local authority environments. His previous roles include Head of Housing Development where he was responsible for delivering complex programmes and driving strategic growth across housing portfolios.
